Natural Gas vs. Propane
How much can you save?

Based on the varying cost per gallon of Propane to the cost per 1 MCF of Natural Gas, a homeowner can enjoy approximately 40% to 45% cost saving when using Natural Gas instead of Propane. We encourage Propane customers to use the following calculation to determine their potential savings.

1 MCF Natural Gas = 10.75 Gallons of Propane
LDC's
Natural Gas Price
= $12.48/MCF
Current Propane Cost = $2.40/Gallon of Propane

10.75 X $2.40 = $25.80 (equivalent price per MCF)
$25.80 - 12.48 = $13.32 (per MCF less for Natural Gas)
$13.32 / $25.80 = 0.516 or 51.6% Savings
If your propane bill was: $300.00 X 0.516 = $154.80 Savings
$400.00 X 0.516 = $206.40 Savings
$500.00 X 0.516 = $258.00 Savings

Calculate your own savings:

10.75 (gal. of Propane) X ______________ = (A)____________ per MCF
Per MCF of Nat. Gas Your Propane cost per gallon Your equivalent Propane cost to Nat. Gas
(A)______________ - ____$12.48____ = (B)______________Savings
Per MCF of Nat. Gas per MCF of Nat. Gas
(B)______________ / (A)______________ = _____________% Savings
